Au Péché Mignon, or in English “A Little Sin,” has been a local Tallahassee staple for over 25 years. It has always had only one location, on the north side of town in Market Square off of Timberlane Road — until now. This delicious “little sin” has opened up a second location downtown, making it much more accessible for downtown workers and students alike. The new pastry shop is located at 220 Duval Street, just north of the Leon County Public Library.
According to their website, Au Péché Mignon uses a “combination of art and talent” to present customers with “the most elegant collection of European confections available today.” As one of Tallahassee’s finest pastry shops, customers can find an assortment of options ranging from cakes, traditional French macarons, truffle chocolates, fresh bread (baguettes and otherwise), cookies, pies and quiche. In addition to food, Au Péché Mignon also offers an array of teas, coffees and other beverages, making it the perfect stop before a workday!
The new location is not unlike other downtown destinations; parking is limited. With only 16 total spaces, customers can park just up the street at the Public Library (free parking for the first hour), use Tallahassee’s newest bike share system (Pace), or take the Metro Bus which has a main drop-off location directly across the street from the shop.
Since the holidays are quickly approaching, Au Péché Mignon has released a Christmas menu with sweets and treats catered just for the holiday season. Try something new, like a Buche de Noël (yellow cake filled with chocolate buttercream and decorated for the season with a dusting of “snow,” winding holly, and small decorative touches) or stick with traditional snowmen cookies or chocolate nutcrackers.
